A SUCCESSFUL GALA DINNER FOR ECCLESHOLME

On Friday 25 September 2009, 103 Brethren and
Ladies attended a Gala dinner to raise funds for the Friends of Ecclesholme at Widnes Masonic Hall. Brethren from the Masonic Groups of Warrington, Leigh, Wigan and Eccles, as well as Widnes Group,
attended to support this worthy event now in its third year. The event was honoured by the presence of Dennis Rudd, Assistant
Provincial Grand Master and his wife Doreen, together with John Hutton Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals and his
wife Anthea.
Following a sumptuous six course dinner the guests were entertained
by Kirsten Jayne Wright, (right) who sang many songs from famous West End Musicals.
A grand raffle was held along with a quick fire auction all of which resulted in a total of £750 being
raised for this very worthy cause.
A wonderful evening was enjoyed by all and thanks were expressed to the Brethren who
organised the event and in particular Bill Isherwood and his wife Hazel.
At a meeting of the Association of Friends of
Ecclesholme Benevolent Society on Sunday 4th October, the Widnes Group Chairman, David Redhead, presented a cheque for £750,
being the proceeds from the dinner, David can be seen below presenting the cheque to Mike Gouldsborough,
Chairman of the Friends of Ecclesholme.
